On March 16th and 17th, 2024, the ZilMoney office in Manjeri became a vibrant hub of innovation and collaboration as it hosted Kerala’s largest women-only hackathon. This empowering event was organised by WOW IEDC MESCE, in collaboration with Tinkerhub and the ZESA Student Community, and powered by ZilMoney.
The hackathon brought together a diverse group of talented women from various fields, all eager to showcase their technical skills and creativity. This unique event provided an inclusive platform where women could collaborate, innovate, and solve real-world problems through technology.
Over the course of two days, participants engaged in intense brainstorming sessions and coding marathons, working in teams to develop innovative solutions to a variety of challenges. The event not only encouraged technical prowess but also fostered teamwork, leadership, and networking among participants.
Expert mentors and industry leaders were present throughout the hackathon to guide and support the teams, offering valuable insights and feedback. Their presence ensured that participants had access to the resources and knowledge necessary to refine their projects and bring their ideas to life.
The hackathon concluded with a presentation session where each team showcased their projects to a panel of judges. The projects were evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, functionality, and impact. This final segment of the event highlighted the remarkable talent and creativity of the participants.
In recognition of their hard work and innovative solutions, prizes were awarded to the top performing teams, the top performing team being team pixies for securing four coveted positions among the top 105 participants. This gesture not only celebrated their achievements but also motivated them to continue pursuing their passion for technology and innovation.
Feedback collected from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such a supportive and inspiring event. The organiser’s’ commitment to creating an inclusive and empowering environment was evident in every aspect of the hackathon.
In summary, Kerala’s largest women-only hackathon was a resounding success, providing a platform for women to excel in technology and innovation.
