The event was hosted by the Entrepreneurship Development Club at the Malappuram District Collectorate, under the Entrepreneurship Development Corporation on August 08, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. It aimed to foster and enhance the entrepreneurial culture among students in Malappuram. The program sought to provide valuable insights, resources, and encouragement to aspiring entrepreneurs in the region. The Student Leads of IEDC MESCE who attended the event included Ayisha Basheer CV, Abdul Raheem, and the Operations Lead, Mohamed Jasim CM.
The event commenced with an inauguration by Mr. Latheef, General Manager of the Entrepreneurship Development Corporation. The ceremony was marked by a welcome address and an overview of the event’s objectives. The programme was later addressed by Dr Smitha Sivadas, Deputy Collector, who delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial skills and the role of institutions in supporting young entrepreneurs.
Later, Mr. Rony K Roy, Senior Technology Fellow at Kerala Startup Mission, conducted an engaging session on boosting the startup culture among students. His session mentioned the several funding opportunities available for a student startup and also gave effective guidance on applying for grants and navigating the application process. He addressed the various mentorship programs and networking opportunities available through Kerala Startup Mission. He also mentioned several success stories of student entrepreneurs who have benefited from these initiatives. He covered various student schemes, grants, and support mechanisms provided by the Kerala Startup Mission. An interactive panel discussion was also conducted that allowed attendees to ask questions and gain practical advice from experienced entrepreneurs and professionals in the field.
The event successfully highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship in the educational landscape and provided students with actionable insights and resources to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. It served as a platform to inspire and equip the next generation of entrepreneurs in Malappuram, fostering a supportive environment for innovative ideas and ventures.
