On March 18th, 2024, the CSE Seminar Hall in the Computer Science Department of MES College of Engineering was a hub of inspiration as it hosted “Career Catalyst”, an interactive and insightful talk session. This event, organised by IEDC MESCE in association with MATRICS and in collaboration with the department’s placement cell, aimed to provide students with valuable career guidance and insights into the tech industry.
The session was led by Mr. Aravind Chelakkode, a Principal Product Manager at Microsoft, whose expertise and engaging presentation style captivated the audience. Mr. Chelakkode shared his personal career journey, offering students a glimpse into the dynamic world of technology and product management. His talk emphasised the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and strategic planning in building a successful career in the tech industry.
Throughout the session, Mr. Chelakkode engaged with the students through interactive discussions, encouraging them to ask questions and share their career aspirations. This interactive element fostered a lively atmosphere, allowing participants to gain personalised advice and insights directly from a leading industry professional.
The collaborative effort in organising this talk session was evident in the seamless coordination and thoughtful planning by IEDC MESCE, Matrics, and the placement cell. Their collective efforts ensured that the session was not only informative but also highly relevant to the students’ career development needs.
The session consisted of a participant count of around 50 Students. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many students expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn from and interact with a seasoned industry leader. The insights gained from Mr. Chelakkode’s session were seen as invaluable in shaping their career paths and understanding the skills needed to thrive in the tech industry.
